MAIL DELIVERY!

Well, that was a deluge! I had to drive home, lights and wipers on, when the sky ripped open. And as I pulled into the driveway I could see mail sticking out of the box. So I inched open my door, grabbed the mail* and continued to the carport. Talk about wet T shirt time!

I’d been up to the Post Office to collect a parcel. And, now that the rooftop Taiko has stopped, I must make some phone calls before people shut down for the weekend.

The cats would love to tell you about the parcel.Details on their blog.

And one picture to get you started…

  1. i remember getting excited about the mail delivery… then it was the UPS guy… and then i just got tired of bills and soliciations and credit card offers and catalogs for things i don’t want or need…

    • I notice that there is a swing towards hand-written letters. Also, and probably as a consequence, fountain pens are resurgent.
In my tired-of-nastiness mind I fondly think that if people had to fill a pen with ink, or dip a nib into a bottle, there might be much nicer messages being sent. .. :-)

      • I agree…there’s something romantic, poetic about dipping the ink, stopping to think…there…that rhymed :-)

I send hand-written letters to the love of my life.

  2. Ohhh, Jim is very nice. I still have to get an Ann Wood but you are encouraging me. Must rush over to the Cats’ page now. (I’m home for a couple of days, got in at 5.30 am this morning and still feeling the effects of sleeping in the train.)
