IN WHICH I DASH IN JUST TO CONFIRM MY CONTINUED EXISTENCE

Jeepers!

What a dreadful hiatus between posts!

But it can’t be helped, people…I have been busier than that limb-deficient paperhanger. Matter of fact, paper comes into it.

Still working on prints for our forthcoming exhibition. What has been looming now takes a more distinct shape. Not quite pushing the “panic” button, but the finger hovers…

School is also on the frenetic side. When is it not? There are days when I wonder why I do this. And then there are the days when I know why. Aren’t those “light bulb moments” special! I’ve had two “Please. Miss, can I be in your group?” requests this week. From lads who spend rather too much time in the Principal’s office.

And for those of you wondering about the travelling sketchbook exchange —ta-daaa!

In the mail yesterday were THREE books. Wheeee! It’s like having three helpings of Christmas pudding. With a sixpence in each portion. Here’s a peek:

This is Brigitte’s opening page of her “Umbilical Cord” book and you really do need to see the real thing.

That end paper looks like the result of a recent marbling workshop, Brizi!

Alison added this soft-coloured lino print of a seed pod.

And this is Heather’s addition, lino print with a collaged piece.(And when the books come around, do have a look on the reverse.)

This is one page-and-a-bit of Frankie’s piece. The weather is against me today as it’s too windy to take photos outside and the books are now a little unstable for one-handed indoor shots. (Does Clarice Cliff come to mind with anyone else?)

But I did manage to photograph all of the latest additions and will post more when time, that rogue, allows. Right now, Time is chivvying me to get my my act together and get to the studio.

Adios!

  1. At least you’re busy doing things you love, makes it worth it. And 3 books in one day?, more busyness to add. I just posted #2 for me. Working on yours now. And I love, love the Hei-Matau, you’ve inspired me to come up with something meaningful and collective.

  2. tara…yes, it would be soul-destroying to be locked into something not fun. But you know that, don’t you!

ellen…yes, 3 at one shot does seem a little daunting, but it’s just the way it worked out, due to vacations etc. I will mail them singly as I know Melanie is also pretty busy. And Brigitte’s closer to you guys right now as she went to Switzerland last week!
