…not necessarily by M. Proust.
Well, thanks to having to beat off those dastardly ninjas I’ve been stuck indoors unable to do much. Gets a bit tedious after a while.
So I thought I’d go through some of my old records. By “records”, I mean those flat black discs. Most of my collection dates back to the 50s and 60s. Quite a few old club recordings, deemed unsuitable for public broadcast.
Pretty tame by present standards.
Anyway, among my collection is one from the original pressing of “Fool Britannia” which was a (then wickedly funny) send-up of the shenanigans centring on the British government of the day.
I wondered if it had been posted on that rag-bag of memorabilia…so I looked.
Sadly, not the LP, but a couple of clips.
A little more?
Probably ‘way over heads of today, but the jokes kept some comedians in beer and fags. 🙂
Having been lucky in this little fishing trip, I cast my line again…
But I’ll save it for another post. Here’s a teaser…the artiste used to sing with the Benny Goodman Orchestra.
