SLOW DAY AT THE COAL FACE.

Actually, it would be more accurate to say that I’m working a new seam.Hoping for the motherlode, but hitting deadlines!

To keep the faith, I give you a small amusement and something else….your challenge, should you accept it, is to decide which is which!

Computer Generated.

My brain, like my computer’s hard drive,                                                                                 Is full of fragments of wit.                                                                                                              And stuff I’ve writ                                                                                                                                          (Or not,as I only jot                                                                                                                                    it down when there’s a pen.)

The difficulty, quite plain                                                                                                                          in either case,                                                                                                                                          Is finding the key                                                                                                                                      that brings it back again.

  1. I’ll take the poem thanks – don’t think I’d like to have a very close conversation with that little wiggly fellow… (he’s rather gorgeous though!)

  2. I don’t do snakes well, no matter how beautiful they are. And they swim far to well as well. Years back I was swimming in a local river. I came up to take a breath and discovered a BIG red-bellied black snake easily keeping pace with me. I can feel my pulse race just thinking about it.
And yes, your brain is indeed full of wit. I always like to read the comments you decorate posts with.

    • Not sure I’d be thrilled at having a swim buddy like that! Red-bellies were fairly common around the area where we lived before coming to Mackay.I used to swim in the water hole, but never saw one. (Gave up swimming after geese and ducks started calling it “home.” Too mucky!)
Ah, my decorative wit! Fed the right pitch I can sometimes hit a winner. 🙂

    • Hmmm… makes my pulse race just contemplating that.

Glad I was finally able to log in and leave a comment! @#$! WordPress! I know EC that you’ve been having problems with that too. Di here (thank you!) helpfully led me to a forum filled with enraged fellow WordPress users who’ve also discovered their commenters are being driven away. It seems if you have a Gravatar account, it will snare you as well and wants you to use that login info (?). Really galling. I’m hoping the outcry makes them put it back the way it was.

Alas, deadlines and a brain generating error messages is something I have all too much sympathy for at the moment. Sigh.

Yes, I hope they’ll undo their most unhelpful changes. Email me if you have any more problems.

  4. i would like a “ctrl c” / “ctrl v” function – that lets my brain copy and paste with precision. and preferably in a document i don’t readily lose…

you swimming friend reminds me that i’ll need to do some critter homework before i head toward the other hemisphere. you have some that should be recognized at a considerable distance!

  5. Ummm… this is rather embarrassing. I’ve never heard of a drop-bear. Must be mixing in the wrong circles
